Victoria Sandwich Serves 8
100 g (4 oz) margarine
100 g (4 oz) caster sugar
2 medium eggs
100 g (4 oz) Be-Ro Self Raising Flour

1 Heat oven to 180潞C, 350潞F, Gas Mark 4. Grease an 18 cm (7 inch) sandwich tins.
2 Cream margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, adding a little flour with each.
3 Gently fold in remaining flour.
4 Place in prepared tins and bake for 20-25 minutes in 2 tins or 40-45 minutes in one tin.
5 When cool, fill with jam or cream. Dust with icing sugar.
Pouring Batter Basic Recipe
100 g (4 oz) Be-Ro Plain Flour
pinch salt
1 medium egg
300 ml (陆 pint) milk (or milk and water)
1 Mix flour and salt in a basin, make a hollow in the centre and drop in egg.
2 Stir with a wooden spoon and add liquid gradually, until all the flour is worked in.
3 Beat well and add remaining liquid.
N.B. The consistency should be like single cream.
Chocolate Chip Cookies Makes 18
100 g (4 oz) margarine
75 g (3 oz) soft light brown sugar
2 x 15 ml spoon (2 tbsp) syrup
175 g (6 oz) Be-Ro Self Raising Flour
100 g (4 oz) chocolate chips
2 x 15 ml spoon (2 tbsp) milk
1 Heat oven to 180潞C, 350潞F, Gas Mark 4. Grease two baking trays.
2 Beat the margarine until soft, add the sugar and cream together until light and fluffy.
3 Stir in the syrup, flour, chocolate chips and milk and mix well.
4 Place spoonfuls of the mixture on the prepared trays and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the tray immediately and place on a wire rack to cool.
Melting Moments Makes 30
65 g (2陆 oz) margarine
40 g (1陆 oz) lard
75 g (3 oz) caster sugar
陆 medium egg
1 x 5 ml spoon (1 tsp) vanilla essence
150 g (5 oz) Be-Ro Self Raising Flour
oats or desiccated coconut
glac茅 cherries
1 Heat oven to 180潞C, 350潞F, Gas Mark 4. Grease two baking trays.
2 Cream the margarine, lard and the sugar until very light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla essence.
3 Stir in the flour and mix well.
4 Roll walnut sized pieces of the mixture into balls and toss in rolled oats or desiccated coconut.
5 Place on baking trays, flatten slightly and place a small piece of cherry on each biscuit. Bake for 10-15 minutes.

when I searched for the recipes...(because I had never heard of Be-Ro Flour Company) Be-Ro.....several recipes came up...so you might try it too...but I did find the site listed about that has the recipes section oo.....
Be-Ro sold out to Premier Foods so you might check their site too for a recipe section

Chocolate Chip Cookies:
3oz marerine
3oz brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
6oz be-ro sr flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
4oz plain chocolate, or chocolate chips
1: cream margerine and sugar, add egg and vanilla essence, beat well.
2: gradually mix in the flour and salt, add chocolate cut into small pieces.
3: place in teaspoonsful oreking sheet.
4: bake in a moderate oven (325-350F, gas mark 3-4) for 10-15 minutes

I love the Be-Ro book!!
My parents used it when we were younger, and I've got my own copy now.
I made the flapjacks recently, and they turned out perfectly.
