Any quick and easy recipes i can use for when my in-laws are around?

i'm not going to want to take the time to make a huge detailed meal.Any quick and easy recipes i can use for when my in-laws are around?
Why not put in Souffers Lasagna and make a green salad for the side and pop a loaf of french bread in the oven. Or good old stand by Spaghetti.

Can make up a few casseroles and freeze them too

Get out the crockpot and if you don't have one I suggest getting one- You can put something on in the morning and have it ready for dinner.

A big pot of chili with the fixings to make their own taco saladAny quick and easy recipes i can use for when my in-laws are around?
Do your own pizzas..you buy a stack of plain cheese and tomato pizzas and then put out a lot of toppings in bowls; thinly sliced sweet peppers, thinly sliced onion, cheese, tomatoes, diced ham, diced chicken, sweetcorn, pineapple chunks, salami, mushrooms and anything else you like including olives and tinned anchovies..and everyone stands around with a glass of wine or a soft drink and makes their own pizza for you to put into the oven for five to seven minutes longer than the pack instructions.

If you want a simple, sit-down meal then you can do much the same thing with baked potatoes and fillings with a salad and perhaps a platter of roast chicken portions. Follow it up with a fruit and cheese board.
Farfalle Festival

1-3/4 pounds farfalle (bow tie) pasta

12 slices bacon, diced

3 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons diced red onion

1 tablespoon chopped garlic

3/4 cup diced Roma tomatoes

3 cooked chicken breast, thinly sliced

3 pinches ground black pepper

3 pinches garlic salt

3 pinches salt

1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons heavy cream

1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons grated Asiago cheese

1 cup Alfredo sauce

Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Stir in the bow tie pasta and return to a boil. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked through but still firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain.

Meanwhile, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until nearly crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon and wipe out the skillet with a paper towel.

Melt the butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Return the bacon to the skillet, and stir in the red onion, garlic, Roma tomatoes, chicken, black pepper, garlic salt, and salt. Cook and stir until the bacon is crisp and onions are translucent. Stir in the cream and Asiago cheese, and cook until the liquid is reduced by half, about 3 minutes.

Stir in the Alfredo sauce and the cooked pasta. Remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly before serving.

When mine came, I spent a little extra time in the weeks before they came preparing entrees for the freezer. I made a hearty lasagna, and a couple of different soups.

Meatloaf, baked ziti, stuffed peppers, and more are all good frozen then reheated.

Then when they come you can throw whatever from the freezer into the oven and make the sides fresh for a wonderfully homecooked meal that didn't pull you into the kitchen for hours during their visit.

Just an idea!
